Discover the beauty of the Barnim

Just 30 miles north-east of Berlin, the picturesque calm Finow Canal runs through the gentle hills of the Barnim region.

It offers ideal starting points for countless

charming outings and discoveries in the forests and lakes of the Schorfheide Heathland, Barnim National Park, the regional park of Barnim Estate "Barnim Feldmark", the hilly region around Chorin and Oderberg as well as the Barnim towns of Eberswalde and Bernau. Take your time and you'll discover the region's variety and special charm. A lot of fieldstone and brick buildings and churches, that escaped destruction and decay, mirror the fickle history of this ancient settlement area.

The Barnim is characterised by impressive historical monuments as well as buildings testifying the history of industrialisation. Fields of waving corn and lush pasturage surrounded by extended forests and lakes stretch around idyllic villages with historic centres.

We acquaint you with the natural and cultural variety of our landscape and look forward to your visiting the Barnim as here you are close to the origins.
